After a recent haircut, my boys wanted to doing something crazy with their hair. Skyler asked Trish (our family hair stylist) to shape his hair like a mohawk. Not actually cut that way, just spike it all up in the middle. Technically, for those who don't already know, when you style it like a mohawk but it is not cut like a mohawk, it is called fohawk (fauxhawk). Pretty wild, huh?
I think this "live on the edge" behavior inspired Gauge. When he got his haircut, he asked Trish to spike it too. But not the same as Skyler's. He wanted his kind of messy, traditional spiked up all over. Between the two of them, people would look,point and make little comments. Most of the comments were positive, as far as I can tell. I think it is great that they both have a sense of individuality. Maybe next time they will decide they want purple hair or something.
