Month #3, Week #2: Training complete
Monday, March 13, 2006
I have officially completed my training schedule for next week's race. I got up to a distance of 6 miles and my best time was about 7:55(MM:SS) average per mile for that distance. Even though my training is over, I still intend to run this week. Not as far, but hopefully I will make couple of short runs and try to get my time down.
My goal is still to complete the 8K in 40 minutes or less. I think I will be able to do it but I am a little bit nervous. 8 minute miles for 5 miles is a pretty aggressive pace for me.
After 10 weeks of training, I am happy to have stuck with the training schedule even when it got really tough. I doubt I will run next year, but who knows. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
