Back from the reunion
Sunday, November 14, 2004
I am finally back from California and my High School Reunion. I owe you loyal readers(all 3 of you) some photos. The whole trip was pretty awesome. I managed to fly 6000 miles, drive 400 miles, see all my family in California, attend a reunion, see many of my friends from High School, work 3 days in Coronado, run one day on the beach and piss off one of my good friends all in less than 7 full days. Whew!!! Try and top that. I will limit this entry to the reunion details but may follow up with details on the whole trip. I am not going to go into detail about who is in each photo. those of you that were there will know, those of you who know me can ask and those of you who just read wouldn't know them anyway.
The reunion started at about 6:30-PM November 6, 2004. I showed up a little after 7PM with a friend of mine (Amy King) that I met up with before the gig. After about five minutes of being there I started seeing many familiar faces. Some folks I was really happy to see. There were others that I was mean to in High School and felt the need to apologize. Shortly after arriving, I met up with Candice and her husband Kris, who came with their friends Beth and Andrew.
A quick shout out to these folks who I definitely remember and it was great to see. I will list the names in alphabetical order to avoid accusations of favoritism.
- Erika Bjork
- Courtney (Broyles?)
- Sonia Day
- Joylene Diener
- Megan Fleming
- Lindsay Goodman
- Mandy Goss
- Amy King
- Beth Soloman
- Candice Taffolla-Schreiber & husband Kris(good to see you, man)
- Alethea Torres
- Jennifer Wilcoxon
- Stephanie Woo
--------------------------
- Bryan Barret (didn't show up. you suck dude.)
I know, they are mostly all girls. What can I say? Many of the guys I hung out with in High School either didn't graduate or definitely didn't go to the reunion. It seems like there were more girls at the reunion than guys anyway. I will have to do a tally to find out. I am almost certain I missed at least one person who really kicks ass and I forgot to mention you. tell me and I will update. If you kick ass, you know it.
Overall, I had a really kick ass time. I am glad I finally decided to go. It was awesome to see all of you again. I look forward to seeing many of you in the future. We will just have to see what the 20 year reunion is all about. If you weren't there then you suck. You should have been there. But now I can call you names and tell you how you missed out. Seriously though, thanks to Candice for your friendship, hanging out with me and encouraging me to go. Thanks to Jennifer for hangin with me while I was staying in Coronado. And thanks to the rest of you for being there so I could say I saw you and pretend like I really had friends.
Two people I would like to give honorary mention to. I was really mean to you guys in Middle School and probably High School. I am an asshole for that and I apologize.
- Tom Brinkman
- Beverly Hogan
For those of you that were there and want a copy of the photos, just look up my email in the reunion memories handout thing-a-majig. I will email you a link to download a zip file with all the reunion photos @ 800x600. If you need larger for print or something let me know and I will send it to you specifically at a file size of about 3.5MB. Okay, enough geek speak. Here are a few more photos but not all of them.

Hey, it's Amy. Nice pics! So, it was pretty cool and a little weird at times! Aside from the shuttle incident, all went smoothly. Though, the next day, I felt a variety of emotions because it just made me re-evaluate my life. I now feel more focused on improving the less satisfying aspects of my life. Overall, the reunion was a positive experience and I may even consider the 20th! Glad you were there, ND! You are a Rock Star!
PDHS_reunion_06.jpg - Hello Dere!
That sure is a long list of female names...Glad you made it there and back in one piece.
Hi There,
I know this is going to seem very strange, but I'm hoping you can put me in contact with Alethea Torres. (I typed her name in Google and your web page came up!) I was neighbors with her in 4th grade and we hung out almost every day. I moved from California in 5th grade and haven't talked to her since, but I would love to get a chance to say "Hi" to her and see how she's doing. If you could pass my email address on to her, I'd really appreciate it! Thank you very much!
