Winter wonderland

.The snow behind our houseIt was great to finally get a little bit of snow. In fact, we got enough snow to actually build a snow man, have snowball fights and make snow angels with. I took some pictures behind our house. The snow looked so awesome on the lake. I took a bunch of other snow photos too. But since I don't really have a photo blog setup, you won't get to see most of them.

When Skyler and Gauge went to see Santa Claus this year, Santa asked Gauge what he wanted for Christmas and Gauge said, "when is it going to snow?" Santa told him on tuesday. Dude, what a chump. Don't say tuesday. Say something like "around Christmas" or "before the New Year". Don't say tuesday. It actually snowed the first time on a Sunday I think and then on a Monday. I tried to explain to Gauge that Santa used to be a weather man and sometimes weathermen make mistakes. Geez, "on tuesday" Santa says.

Good ol' FrostySo anyway, Skyler and I went out and built a snowman. We actually had a killer snowball fight and wrestling match but Tiffany was having problems getting the camera to work and missed some of the action. Gauge was very excited to be in the snow, even though it wasn't Tuesday. Skyler left the snowman up for about 4 days and then kickboxed him over. It's ok ay though, his eyes fell out after about 2 days.

Skyler and GaugeI love the snow. I wish I owned a winter home somewhere(maybe Colorado) and could to go there 2-3 weeks out of the year

Snowboarding @ Snowshoe Snowplow

Nic and AlexOhhh $hit.... Those were the first words from my mouth as I barreled down the the snow covered mountain, crouching slightly to prepare for my launch over the beautifully crafted mound of snow, in anticipation of my airborne travel.

Well... the first part was correct. But the truth is, after I crouched down I abruptly realized Langdon had stopped just beyond the jump. There was no time to stop. So, onward and downwartd I went. In fact, such is true for both of us. I collided into him and we swiftly became one with the ground.

One of his Ski poles was totally tweaked; bent almost 90° towards the end. Both of his skis came off and we layed mangled in the snow for a moment. My snowboard was attached so, of course it didnt come off. We were both like, "Damn, are all right?" ...and we both replied "Yes."

Red Dawn, MUAHHAHABut something was wrong. There was blood all over the snow. Like sombody sprayed blood on the snow with a squirt bottle. But we didn't know where it was coming from. Langdon said, "Is my nose bleeding?" Blowing snot from his nose. "No", I said. "Is your nose bleeding", he asked as he lifted his arm to point to my nose. By this time Cameron had skiied to where we were and witnessed Langdon lifting his arm toward my nose to ask if it was bleeding just in time to see blood squirt out of Langdon's wrist.

Bloody SliceThen came the second "Ohh $hit..." It was like a small drinking fountain that had been left on. You know, like when the water just keeps trickling over the sides. I could have sworn that his ski pole had stuck him right in the wrist. It just seemed like there was this deep gaping hole. but what had actually happened was, when his ski came off it slid over his wrist and slit it wide open. Nice, huh?

Less bloody sliceSo, long story short, we tied it off with a piece of material and had ski patrol run him back up the mountain. Cameron and I came back up shortly after. By the time I got back up there. they already had him in the mini hospital room. In the end he needed to get like 3 stitches. Was it 3 dude? He just chilled and let me take thes pictures you are viewing while they fixed him up.

Sew that piece upIt was pretty much the end of the day anyway. After hangin with him to make sure he got fixed up I took one more run with Nic and Alex. It was getting colder and the snow was starting to ice over. But that sucks that I took out my friend. I think I am just dangerous when it comes to sports. I am getting too old to be getting crazy like that.

Skyler man jamsOn another note, Skyler went with us and snowboarded too. He had a great time. I spent most of the day with him. Good thing too. I might have taken out everybody on the mountain. Thanks goes out to Nic, Alex, Cameron and Langdon for helping to make Skyler's first snowboarding trip so much fun for him. He digs you guys. I would have written more in this blog about Skyler but I felt like Langdon deserved some special attention for his war wound.

Chillin with my SkyYeah, no boarding pictures of me. I suck. I hurt people. Bad Noah. Apparantly, we don't have any pictures of Cameron from the trip. Damn. sorry dude. take a picture of yourself and I will photoshop you crashing into Langdon instead of me.
