The Good, the Bad, and the Triumphant

The Good:
I successfully ran and completed the Shamrock 8k in Virginia Beach.
The Bad:
I ended up with some serious knee pain. The knee pain actually started weeks before the race. I was stubborned and determined to run anyway. I still think it was worth it. Even though I have to ride around in a wheelchair (joking). I most certainly did not place anywhere worth noting.
The Triumphant:
I have always wanted to run in a 5 mile or so race. I have spent the last 6 months running to be ready. I almost decided not to run because of the knee pain. I actually went and saw a Sports Medicine Doctor and got x-rays. He said there was no bone damage and I could run if I could stand the pain. That kind of made me feel like I had to do it. So I am proud to have stuck with it and made it through.
Disclaimer:
Okay, so maybe the triumphant part is a stretch. But it seemed to make for a good title. And besides, this is my blog.
